William Turner was born in Finningley in 1893. At age 18, he is working as a farm labourer for his father, William Turner, at Finningley.
Military History
William enlisted at Doncaster in the Notts and Derby Regiment, number 59941 before being transferred to the Machine Gun Corps. He died of wounds and is commemorated at the Tyne Cot Memorial.
