Worksop Guardian 28 July1 916 Lance-Corp. Bell, who was 24years of age, joined the Manchester Regiment in 1914, and was quickly promoted. Bell was a fine sturdy fellow, a good Christian character. His death is a terrible blow to Mrs. Bell, and he was her chief support, and her husband died under tragic circumstances a few years ago. Corporal Arthur Bell Retford Times 28 July 1916 We have to announce the death of Corpl Arthur Bell, Manchester Regiment, son of Mrs Bell of Blyth, formerly of Styrrup. The deceased who was only 24, joined the colours in October 1914 and had been in France since last October and was killed in action on July 1st
