Family History

Thomas Vernon was born in 1895 the son of Enoch a blast furnace filler and Mary Vernon née Goodwin and the brother of John Edward, Minnie, Nellie, Florence Elizabeth and Daisy May Vernon. In 1911 they lived at 24 Edward Street and later at 50 William Road (both Stapleford Nottinghamshire). Enoch was born in 1864 at Chapel en le Frith, Mary Jane Clews Goodwin was born in 1864 at the Peak Forest, married in 1886 at Chapel en le Frith.

Military History

Private Thomas Vernon enlisted at Nottingham, he landed in France on 28th July 1915, he was killed in action on 22nd October 1915 and is buried at Cambrin Churchyard extension, Cambrin.
