Family History

Albert Edward Mew (junior) was born in 1891 the son of Albert Edward (senior) labourer and his first wife the late Harriett Mew nee Moore of Moorebridge Lane, Stapleford. Albert Edward Mee (senior) was born in 1863 at Nottingham, Harriett Moore was born in 1869 at Nottingham, she died in 1901 aged 32 yrs, married in 1885 at Nottingham they had the following children, Alfred Henry b1888, Albert Edward b1891 and Arthur b1896 all were born in NottinghamHis father remarried in 1902 at Nottingham to Leah Jebb, they went on to have a daughter Freda May born 1907 at Stapleford. In 1911 they lived on Moorbridge Lane Stapleford Nottinghamshire.Albert Edward Mew (junior) married Constance Thompson (born 15th January 1895) in 1914 their marriage was recorded in the Shardlow registration district, they lived at 15 The Pastures Stapleford and had a daughter Ivy Gwendoline born April 1914. Commencing 31st June 1916 Constance Mew was awarded a pension of 15 shillings a week.

Military History

Private Albert Edward Mew enlisted at Nottingham, he died of wounds at No 1 casualty clearing station on 17th July 1915, he is buried at Chocques Military Cemetery.
