Family History

Joseph Henry Clark was born in 1890 he was the son of Mary Clarke and the late Joseph Clark and the brother of John Thomas, Clara Jane, Matilda and Leslie Clarke. Joseph was born 1851 at Church Over, Warwickshire, he died prior to the 1911 census, Mary was born in 1864 at Lutterworth. In 1911 the family lived at 18 Moorbridge Lane Stapleford Nottinghamshire, Mary 44 yrs is a widow and washer woman, she is living with her sons John Thomas 24 yrs a coal miner and Joseph Henry 21 yrs an iron worker.

Military History

Private Joseph Henry Clark enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Stapleford, he served with the 9th battalion Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) he died on 3rd December 1915 and is buried at Reservoir Cemetery, Ypres, Belgium.
