Family History

John Samuel was born in 1887 the son of John a lace warper and Mary Turton née Hunt. His father John (1863-1919) was born in Derby and his mother Mary Hunt was born in 1864 in Beeston. Married 25th December 1884 in Ripley, they ha the following children, all of whom were born in Beeston except John Samuel who was born in Lenton. Their other children were Mary b.1884, Thomas William b.1884, John b.1887, Kate b.1889, Sarah b.1891, Annie b.1894, Job b.1896, Caroline b.1898, Nellie b.1899, Herbert b.1901 and Leslie b.1907. In 1911, they lived at40, Regent Street, Beeston. The head of the household was the eldest daughter Mary a general servant domestic. She was living with her siblings Thomas William an iron moulders labourer, John an iron moulders labourer, Kate a starcher at the laundry, Sarah a laundry shirt machinist, Annie no occupation, Job a foundry iron fettler, Caroline a string winder and Leslie (4 years old). John Samuel married Rosanna Perks in 1913 and their son John was born in 1914.
