Arthur Charles Russell was born in 1892 the son of Edwin Hooper a Midland Railway station master and Lucy Russell. Edwin Hooper Russell was born in 1861 at Bidford, Warwickshire, Lucy Taylor in 1860 at Calverton, Buckinghamshire. Married in 1885, they had five children - Mary b.1886, Edwin b.1888 , Benjamin b.1890, Arthur Charles b.1892 and Laura b.1894. In 1911, they lived at Station House, Hellifield, Leeds.
