Family History

He was the son of Harriet Manley and the brother of William, Bertie and Cissy Manley. In 1901 and 1911, the family lived at Sandiacre, Derbyshire. Robert was serving with 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters in 1911 at Gough Barracks, Trimulgherry, Deccan, India. He married Hannah Norah Adamson in 1915. She married Samuel Vickers in 1919 and moved to 9, Phythian Street, St. Helens, Lancashire.
