Family History

Thomas Branson Knowles was born in 1883 and baptised on 12th September 1886 in Nottingham. He was the son of Henry a fish monger and Louisa Knowles (née Branson). His parents were married in 1880 and had eight children seven surviving infancy - Mary Ann b.1880 Thomas Branson b.1883, Henry b.1887, Horace b.1890, Louisa b.1896, Elsie b.1900 and Hilda b.1904. Thomas Branson married Mary Jane Chaplin in 1904 and their son Thomas was born in 1905. They lived at 13, Prospect Place, New Lenton in 1911. His parents and siblings lived at 94, High Road, Beeston. Henry and Louisa ran the fish monger business, Horace was an electro plater and Louisa an office girl.
