Eric Henry Cabourn was born in 1895 at Rippingale, Lincolnshire and was the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Annie Cabourn, née Arrow of Moor Lane, Bingham, Nottinghamshire His father Frederick was born in 1862 and his mother Elizabeth Annie Arrow was born in 1866 in Birmingham, they were married in in 1893 at Pancras, London, they went on to have 4 children , Eric Henry b1895 Rippingale, Lincolnshire. Ellen Annie b1896 Bingham, Vitoria May b1898 Bingham and FredericK James b1900 at Bingham. His father Frederick died in 1899 in Bingham, he was 37 yrs old, he is buried in Bingham Cemetery. In the 1911 census the family are living at Moor Lane, Bingham, and were shown as Elizabeth Annie Cabourn head of the family , widow 45 yrs she is living with her children Eric Henry 16 yrs a waggoner on a farm, Ellen Annie 15 yrs a domestic, Victoria May 13 yrs a scholar and Frederick James 11 yrs a scholar.

Military History

Private Eric Henry Cabourn enlisted at Newark and served with the 4th battalion Northumberland Fusiliers . He was killed in action on 14th August 1916, in the trenches at Carency section whilst on attachment to the 20th Battalion. He is buried in Cabaret-Rouge Cemetery grave reference 4.C.18
