He was the adopted son of Joseph and Sarah Elizabeth Oldham of 19 Cross Street Beeston Nottingham.
Private Albert Dawn, 9th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, died in Mesopotamia on 24th July 1917. He is buried in Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery. Grave Reference: XI K 15
In memoriam published 24th July 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post : - “DAWN (Oldham). – In loving memory of Pte. Albert Dawn, Royal Warwicks, 19, Cross-street, Beeston, died July 24th, 1917, in Mesopotamia. – Never forgotten by mam, dad, Harry, and Edna. “DAWN (Oldham). – In loving memory of our dear brother, Pte. Albert Dawn (Oldham), died Mesopotamia, July 24th, 1917.
