Family History

John Robert Clifford was born in 1888 the son of William a lace maker and Sarah (née Gore) of 29 Enfield Street, Beeston, Nottingham. His father was born in 1849 in Beeston and his mother in 1851 at Manchester. Married in 1874, they had seven children, six surviving infancy - William b.1877, Mary Louisa b.1878, Henry b.1880, Arthur b.1882, Alfred b.1883, Sarah b.1887 and John Robert b.1888 all of whom were born in Nottingham. In 1911, John Robert Clifford was boarding at 10, Clara Street, Coventry with the Scotholm family. John Robert married Phoebe Elizabeth Magdalen Bigwood at Coventry in 1916.
