Clarence Harrison was born in 1896 the son of Henry a coal miner hewer and the late Sarah Jane Harrison née Watson of 61 Ford Haddon Road, Ilkeston Henry was born in 1869 at Ilkeston, Sarah Jane Watson was born in 1870 at St Albans, she died in 1910 aged 41 yrs, married in 1889 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they had 7 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood, In 1911 the family lived at 61 Ford Haddon Road, Ilkeston, Henry is a coal miner hewer and Clarence is a pony driver in a coliery.

Military History

Private Clarence Harrison enlisted at Ilkeston, he was killed in action on 14th October 1915 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
