He was the son of Thomas and Sarah Barlow and the brother of Elizabeth, John, Nellie, Violet, Ida, Ernest and Ethel Barlow. In 1901 they lived on Main Street Cropwell Bishop Nottinghamshire.

Military History

Acting Bombardier Thomas Richards Barlow, initially served with the service number 2322 in the 2/1st South Notts Hussars before transferring to the 2nd “C” Reserve Brigade Royal Field Artillery, he died on 9th May 1917 at the Bagthorpe Isolation Hosptial of “spotted fever, contracted while in training at Catterick Camp.” He is buried at Cropwell Bishop (St. Giles) Churchyard.

Death notice published 12th May 1917 I the Nottingham Evening Post :- “BARLOW. – On May 9th, suddenly, at Bagthorpe Isolation Hospital, Bombardier Thomas Richards Barlow, R.F.A., aged 20 years, the dearly-loved second son of T.
