Family History

Thomas Pearson was born in 1883 and was the son of William a coal miner and Betsey Pearson née Davis of Rushall Staffordshire. William was born in 1857 at Walsall he died in 1897 at Walsall he was 40 yrs of age, Betsy Davis was born in 1859 at Wednesbury, they were married on 30th October 1877 at Rushall and went on have 7 children. Thomas married Phoebe Pashkin (born 5th July 1884) married 1905, they lived at 15 Park Street, Mansfield Woodhouse and had children, Gertrude born 24th December 1905, Ada born 30th October 1907, Thomas born 11th February 1910 and Herbert born 19th May 1914 In 1911 the family were living at Coronation Road, Pelsall, Walsall Thomas 28 yrs is a coal miner he is living with his wife Phoebe 26 yrs and heir 3 children. Commencing 13th August 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 28 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military History

Private Thomas Pearson enlisted at Mansfield, served with the 10th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he went to France on 11th August 1915 and died of nephritis on 6th February 1917, at No. 8 General Hospital, Rouen, France. He is buried at Bois-Guillaume Communal Cemetery, France. Plot 2. Row C. Grave 16A
