Joseph Hague (junior) was born in 1893 he was the son of Joseph Hague (senior) a corporation labourer and Clara Hague née Cropper of 9 Newcastle Street, Mansfield Woodhouse. Joseph Hague (senior) was born in 1868, Clara Cropper was born in 1868 both were born at Pleasley, they were married in 1887 their marriage was recorded in the Mansfield registration district, they went on to have 8 children. In 1911 the family are living at 9 Newcastle Street, Mansfield Woodhouse, Joseph (senior) is 43 and a corporation labourer, he is living with his wife Clara 43 yrs and six of their children including Joseph 18 yrs a colliery labourer

Military History

Private Joseph Hague enlisted at Mansfield he landed in France on 28th July 1915 and was killed in action, 16th February 1917, whilst serving in the line at Ypres, Belgium. Buried: Bard Cottage Cemetery, Belgium. Plot 2. Row C. Grave 12.
