Wellington III BJ756 took off 2007 12 Mar 1943 from East Wretham. It was shot down by a night- fighter. Akrill’s crewmates Leonard George Collins, Leo Patrick Fallon, Christopher James Joseph Whitton and Curtis Mackinnon Moffatt were also lost. 4 aircraft had been detailed to attack Essen, the other 3 returned safely.
