He was the son of Ernest Joshua and Edith Perkins and the brother of Edith Jassie Lloyd and Malcolm Bryan Perkins. In 1921, they lived at 7, Esher Grove, Nottingham. Ivan Perkins and Theodora Goddard were married at Mansfield in 1940. She later lived at Bingham, Nottinghamshire.
