HM Trawler Phineas Beard

HM Trawler Phineas Beard was a British Royal Navy Trawler requisitioned in August 1939 and used as a Minesweeper. PHINEAS BEARD HMT, built in 1917 by Cook, Welton & Gemmell Ltd. and owned at the time of her loss by British Royal Navy, was sunk in an air raid off the East coast of Scotland on the 8th December 1941. 12 men were lost including Ordinary Seaman Joseph Cooke from Nottingham.
