Son of James and Elizabeth Brady. John James was born in Ireland, possibly in the Dublin area.
John Joseph married Florence Eva Tindall of 49 Spencer Street, Mansfield in 1928 and they had 2 children, Maureen in 1929 and Robert in 1936.

Military history

The Pioneer Corp was formed on 17th October 1939 and was manned mainly by men deemed too old to fight on the Front Line, many of these where veterans from WW1, and those not classed a1 fit. They were the labour force, doing mine clearence, guarding bases, laying trackways and logistics.
John Joseph was lost during the Battle of France in the Somme area. His name was included on a list of missing soldiers circulated around Prisoner of War camps.
