Family History

CSC was the RAF Combined Selection Centre. It was "Combined" because it selected both RAF officers and RAF aircrew. It was based at RAF North Weald in 1940. Presumably Shillito was employed there , although his home was much closer to RAF Hendon and RAF Bentley Priory. Co-incidentally ( perhaps) RAF North Weald was hit by 20-30 Luftwaffe bombs on 29 Oct 1940 including a direct hit on the guardroom. Shillito may have been wounded at his place of work at RAF North Weald on 29 Oct 1940 and died , the next day in his own home from the effects . However Harrow was also heavily bombed in Oct 1940 so he could have been killed in his own house. Connection with Kirkby unknown
