Edward Sargison Wesson was born in 1893 at Keyworth he was the son of the late James Sargison a tailor and Sarah Jane Wesson née Disney . He was the brother of William James and Lois Wesson. They lived at 59 Carnarvon Street Netherfield Nottingham. James Sargison was born in 1847 Holwell, Leicestershire he died in 1903 aged 56 yrs, Sarah Jane Disney was born in 1861 at Keyworth they were married on 20th October 1881 at St Andrews Church, Nottingham, they went on to have 7 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family were living at 59 Carnarvon Street, Netherfield, Sarah Jane is 50 yrs and a widow, she is living with her children, William James 24 yrs a French polisher, Edward 18 yrs a warehouse man and Lois 13 yrs old.
Private Edward Sargison Wesson attested at Nottingham on 24th August 1916, giving his age as 23 yrs and 169 days, he was a tailors cutter and lived at 59 Carnarvon Street, Netherfield, he was posted to the reserves. He was mobilised for war on 12th December 1916 and landed in France on 28th February 1917. He was killed in action on 3rd May 1917 and having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial
