Family History

In 1911 he was lodging with an uncle and aunt George and Mary Shaw at 29 High Pavement Sutton in Ashfield. He was the husband of Emma (née Gent) Marshall. Emma married George F King at Nottingham in 1918 and they lived in The Meadows Nottingham.

Military History

He enlisted 27/4/1915 serving with 9th and 1/5th Battalions Sherwood Foresters before being posted to 1st Bn 21/12/1917. He was wounded in the heel 9/3/1917 and gassed 10/8/1917 returning to England for recuperation 17/8/1917.
