Reginald Corns was born in 1896 the son of Albert John a pipe moulder and his first wife the late Kate Corns née Parkin of 2 Mitchell Terrace, Hallams Fileld, Ilkeston. Albert John was born in 1869 at Darlaston, Staffordshire, Kate Parkin was born in 1871 at Barnsley, she died in 1900 aged 29 yrs, they were married in 1892 their marriage was registered in the Belper registration district, they had the following children, Reginald b1896, Albert b1898, Noel Edward b1899. His father married Maria Eliza Jane Randall on 29th July 1901 at Shardlow, they had children, Fred Charles b1902, Evelyn Minnie b1904, Dennis George b1906 and Arthur

Military History

Driver Reginald Corns enlisted at Ilkeston, he served with the 34th Brigade Royal Field Artillery, he was killed in action on 13th August 1917 and is buried at New Irish Farm Cemetery.
