Father: James Marshall, born 1846 at Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire, working as a carter. Mother: Mary Marshall, born 1861 at Owthorpe, Nottinghamshire. Sisters: Nellie, born in 1891 at Cotgrave, Winifred, born 1897 at Holme Pierrepont, Nottinghamshire, Annie M., born in 1899 at Holme Pierrepont and Mabel, born in1903 at Holme Pierrepont. Military History

Marshall was called up for service and it appears that during training he was taken ill and died at a London hospital on 18 October 1915. His body was brought home and he was buried in the General Cemetery, Nottingham (grave ref 18958).
