Ernest Woolley

Ernest Woolley was born in 1888 in Nottingham and was the son of Susan Woolley née Robson and the late Joseph Worley a bricklayer of 3, Chews Yard, Ronald St., Radford, Nottingham. His father Joseph was born 1852 in Nottingham, he died in 1905 aged 52 yrs at Nottingham, his mother Susan Robson was born in 1856 in Sleaford, they were married on 18th December 1870 in St Stephens Church, Nottingham, they went on to have 12 children 1 sadly died in infancy their children all born in Nottingham were, Joseph b1875, Albert b1878, Lizzie b1873, Nellie b1881, Agnes b1883, Emma b1886, John b1884, Ernest b1888, May b1891 ,Annie b1893, Christopher b1895 and Charles b1898 . In the 1911 census the family are living at 4 Queens Cottages, Court Street, Hyson Green, and are shown as Susan 55 yrs a widow, she is living with her children Annie 18 yrs, Chris 16 yrs a joiner Charles 13 yrs an errand boy and May 20 yrs a lace dresser (in fact on this census Susan has listed her husband and all her children, however these have been crossed out except for those currently living with her , presumably by the enumerator.) A photograph caption, published 18th November 1914 in the Nottingham Evening Post gives his address as 52 Court Street, Hyson Green Nottingham.
