Family History

Edith Annie Radford was born in 1895 the daughter of Andrew a coal miner and Annie Radford (née Tilley). Her father was born in 1861 at Bulwell and her mother in 1864 at Hallaton, Leicestershire. Married in 1881, they had nine children, eight surviving infancy - Alfred b.1883, Clara b.1889, Arthur b.1891, Mabel b.1893, Edith b.1895, Andrew b.1898, Wilfred b.1900 and Ernest b.1901. In 1911 they lived at 105 Henrietta Street, Bulwell. Clara worked in a shop, Arthur was a miner, and Mabel a cotton finisher.

Military History

Edith Annie Radford died of influenza whilst serving at the 2nd Northern Hospital at Leeds. She is buried in the family grave at Northern Cemetery, Bulwell, Nottingham.
