Thomas Martin Templeman was born on 14th May 1876 in Nottingham, the former butcher was the 40 year-old husband of Helen Templeman, née Shaw of 293 Polson Avenue, Winnipeg He was the son of Thomas a butcher and the late Martha May Templeman née Martin, of Oxton, Nottinghamshire. His father Tom was born in 1849 in Nottingham and his mother Martha May Martin was born in 1850 in Nottingham, they were married in 1870 their marriage was recorded in the Radford Registration District, they went on to have the following children Florence b1872, Clara Nellie b1873, Gertrude b1875, Tom b1876 and Millicent b1878. His mother Martha May died in 1909 aged 59 yrs her death was recorded in the Southwell Registration District. Thomas Martin Templeman married Ellen Shaw in 1900 in Nottingham, in the 1911 census they are shown living at Sherwood Street, Nottingham, Thomas is 24 yrs and a master butcher , his wife Ellen is 25 yrs of age.
Thomas Martin Templeman enlisting in Canada on 3th March 1916 he served with the 27th Canadian Infantry he was killed in action on 3rd May 1917 and his name is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial
In memoriam published 12th July 1917 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “TEMPLEMAN. – Previously reported missing, now officially reported killed in action on May 3rd, Private T. M.
