Charles Perrons was born on 15th February 1884 in Basford and was the son of Arthur a stoker and Ann Perrons née Dabell who lived at 102 Eland Street Basford Nottingham. His father was born in 1843 in Basford and his mother Ann Dabell was born in 1838 in Bulwell, they were married in 1864 in Radford and went on to have 9 children, sadly six of whom died in infancy or early childhood prior to 1911. Their three surviving children were: Arthur John b1869, Harriett b1873 and Charles b1884; all were born in Basford. In the 1911 census his family are living at 102 Eland Street, New Basford and are shown as Arthur 67 yrs, a retired stoker, who is living with his wife Ann 72 yrs and his daughter Harriett 36 yrs single and a dress maker. His father Arthur died on 22nd August 1911 aged 68 and his mother Ann on 17 November 1918 aged 80. He was the husband of Elizabeth Perrons of 43 Bovill Street, Radford, Nottingham, although they were formerly of Montreal, Canada. They had two children.
Private Charles Perrons, served with “C” Company, 3rd Canadian Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action on 13th June 1916. He has no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres and on a family headstone in Nottingham (New Basford) Cemetery.

The memory of the just is (-). Also Arthur the beloved husband of Ann Perrons who departed this life Aug 28th 1911 aged 68 years. Thy will be done. Also of Ann, the beloved wife of the above who departed this life Nov. 17th 1918 aged 80 years. Reunited. Also Charles Perrons. CEF, son of the above and beloved husband of Lizzie Perrons. Killed in action at Ypres, June 13th 1916, aged 32 years. Duty nobly done.’ Obituary published on 16th November 1916 in Nottingham Evening Post :- “PERRONS. – Reported missing June 13th, 1916, presumed killed in action, Private Charles Perrons, Canadians, dearly-beloved husband of Lizzie Perrons, 93, Central-avenue, Nottingham, formerly of Montreal, Canada, aged 32 years. Not good-bye, but good night, good night, we all shall meet in the morning's light. – Montreal (Canada) papers please copy.” In memoriam published 13th June 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “PERRONS. – In loving memory of my dear husband, Pte. Charles Perrons, Canadian Expeditionary Force, reported missing June 13th, 1916, afterwards reported killed on that date.
