Arthur Hermon Moore was born in 1892 the son of the late Arthur a brewery worker and Betsy Moore née Price of 99 Station Road Chapeltown Sheffield. Arthur was born in 1858 at Radcliffe on Soar, he died in 1910 aged 53 yrs, Betsy Price was born in 1862 at Radcliffe on Trent, married in 1880 at Nottingham they went on to have 8 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family lived at Mountain Ash, Conway Road, Carlton, Nottingham. Betsy is 49 yrs of age and a widow, Arthur Herman Moore is 19 yrs of age and a clerk. Arthur emigrated to Canada prior to the outbreak of the 'Great War'

Military History

Sergeant Arthur Herman Moore enlisted in Canada and served with the Canadian Machine Gun Corps. He died on 26th July 1918 and is buried at Huby-St.Leu British Cemetery C.8
