Family History

He was born in 1889 the son of John Henry a stationary engine driver and Sarah Chamberlain (née Wakefield). John was born in 1855 in Lenton and Sarah in 1857 also at Lenton. Married in 1874, they had nine children but only Archibald, Getrude b.1874 (Hulme, Manchester) and Florence b.1888 (Nottingham) survived. In 1911 the family lived at 88 Willoughby Street, Lenton, Nottingham. Archibald married Mary Robinson in 1910 at Nottingham and they had three sons - Phillip, (1910), John (1911) and Gerald (1915). They lived with Mary's parents at 11, East Place, Mansfield Road, Carrington Nottingham in 1911 and later at 3, East Place.
