Harold Marshall Phillips

Harold Marshall Phillips was born in 1894 in Netherfield and was the son of Harry Ernest Phillips a lithographic printer and the late Lilly Phillips née Marshall of 34 Redland Grove, Carlton Nottingham. His father Harry Ernest was born in 1869 in Nottingham and his mother Lilly Marshall was born in 1872 also in Nottingham, they were married in 1890 in Nottingham and went on to have 5 children , Frank Ernest b1892 Nottm, Arthur Thomas b1893 Netherfield, Harold Marshall b1894 Netherfield, Lucy b1896 Netherfield and Alfred Harry b1898 Netherfield. His mother Lily died in 1908 aged 36 yrs , the death was registered in the Basford Registration District. In 1911 census the family were living at 35 Redland Grove Carlton Nottingham and were shown as Harry Ernest 42 yrs a widow a lithographic printer, he is living with his children Frank Ernest 19 yrs a dairymans assistant, Arthur Thomas 18 yrs a coal miner (ganger), Harold Marshall 17 yrs a French polisher, and Alfred Harry 13 yrs a scholar, also living with the family and shown as an aunt is Jane Johnstone 74 yrs a widow a domestic. Harold Marshall married his wife Priscilla Lomas (born 8th January 1894 ) in 1914 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration District, they go on to have a daughter Lily born 13th January 1915, the birth being registered in the Basford Registration District and Harold born 20th January 1916, the birth was registered in Aston, Warwickshire. They lived at 9 Renwick Street, Netherfield, Nottingham. Following his death his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence a week which commenced on 2nd June 1919.
