Family History

William Streets was born in 1898 at Beeston, he was the son of the late John a mechanic and Sarah Ann Streets née Johnson of 10 Lewis Place Bloomsgrove Street Radford Nottingham. John was born in 1872 at Radford he died in 1906 aged 35 yrs, Sarah Ann Johnson was born in 1869 at Nottingham they were married in 1892 at Nottingham and had a further child George born 1893. In 1911 he was living with his grandmother Sarah Streets and his brothers George Henry and John Streets at 119 Arkwright Street Meadows Nottingham.

Military History

Private William Streets enlisted at Nottingham, he was killed in action on 21st March 1918 whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact) Having no known grave his name is Commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France. Bay 7.
