James Sheavyn (junior) was born in 1885 the son of James Sheavyn (senior) a pipe maker and Eliza Sheavyn née Hodgkins of The Crescent, Selston. James Sheavyn (senior) was born in 1857 at Burton upon Trent, Eliza Hodgkinses was born in 1857 at Wolverhampton, married in 1877 At St Marys Church Greasley, they went on to have 6 children, James Sheavyn (junior) married Caroline Howe in 1906 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district, they lived at Alfreton Road, Selston and had children, Reginald born 16th October 1907 and Ernest William born 2nd January 1910 and Dora born 9th October 1918 all were born in Selston. In 1911 they lived on Alfreton Road Selston Nottingham James was a general labourer in a pipe works
