Military History

He served in the Army Cyclist Corps 6th Bn. He died of pneumonia and is buried in Le Cateau Communal Cemetery (grave reg. I.7).

Nottingham Evening Post notice (abridged), 27 November 1918: 'Walker. Private FE Walker, husband of Eliza Walker, died November 21st of pneumonia in France. Wife and child, 6 Swanwick Street.' Obituary published in the Nottingham Evening Post dated 21st November 1919:- “WALKER. – In affectionate remembrance of Pte. F. E. Walker (Ted), Cyclist, dearly loved husband of Eliza Walker, died in France 21st of November, 1918.
