Frank Hollis (junior) was born in 1892 the son of Frank Hollis (senior) a lace maker and Emma Hollis and the brother of Samuel Henry Hollis. Frank Hollis (senior) and Emma were born in 1866 at Nottingham, they were married in 1886 at Nottingham. In 1911 they lived at 4 St Paul's Avenue Hyson Green Nottingham. Frank (senior) 45 yrs is a lace maker and Frank (junior) 19 yrs is a shop assistant. Frank (junior) married Ethel E Naylor in 1914 at Nottingham, they lived at 47 Exeter Road, Sherwood Rise, Nottingham. Commencing 19th May 1919 his widow Ethel was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military History

Gunner Frank Hollis enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 185th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. He was killed in action on 24th October 1918 and is buried at Wassigny Communal Cemetery, France.
