Ernest Edward Ware was brn in 1882 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late James Ware a lace maker and Emma Ware née Brotherhead of 118 Whittier Road, Sneinton, Nottingham.
His father James Ware was born in 1850 at Sneinton, he died in 1916 at Nottingham aged 66 yrs, his mother Emma Brotherhead was born in 1853 at Sneinton, they were married on 27th January 1877 at St Peters Church, Nottingham, they had 7 children, sadly 1 was to die in infancy or earley childhood.
In the 1911 census the family were living at 118 Whittier Road, Nottingham, Emma Ware 57 years and marrried is living with her children, George Henry 26 yrs an adding machine fitter, Ethel 20 yrs a hosiery pants maker,
In the same 1911 census we find that James Ware is a boarder 60 yrs a retired lace hand. he is boarding at 36 Sneinton Boulevard, Nottingham, he is boarding with William Cullen 47 yrs a grocer traveller and his family.
Ernest Edward Ware married Maira Elizabeth Page (born 6th September 1884) they were married on 21st April 1906 at St Stephens Church, Sneinton, they lived at 16 Ena Ave, Sneinton they had the following children, Phyllis born 14th February 1907, Stanley born 4th August 1912 and Marjorie, born 20th June 1915.
Commencing 28th April 1919 his widow was awarded a pension o 29 shillings and 7 pence a week.
Lance Corporal Ernest Edward Ware enlisted at Nottingham, he initially served with the service number 67238 in the Leicestershire Regiment, he was killed in action on 8th October 1918 whilst servicvng with the 13th battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers, he is buried at Moulin-de-pierre-british cemetery, France,
