Family History

Arthur lived with his wife, May, at 5 Eyre Street, Nottingham. They had one daughter, also named May, who was born 21st April 1915.

Military History

Arthur Turton enlisted on 24 August 1914 and landed as reinforcement to the 9th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli on 13th September 1915. He was killed in action a month later on 14th October 1915, aged 25. Arthur has no known grave and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial.
