Family history

Frederick Harrison was born in 1891 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late George a jack straightener and Emma Matilda Eccleshaw of Camden Street, Sneinton Nottingham.

His father George was born in 1859 at Nottingham,he died in 1914 aged 55 yrs his mother Emma Matilda Ecclesshw was born in 1860 at Nottingham, they were married on 15th July 1878 at St Matthias Church, Sneinton, they went on to have 9 children, sadly 5 were to die in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 18 Camden Street, Sneinton, George 51 yrs is a jack straightener he is living with his wife Emma Matilda 51 yrs and their children, Charlotte 24 yrs a lace jennier, Anne 22 yrs a pattern girl and Frederick 20 yrs a spring and point maker.

Frederick married Beatrice Ada Wilson (born 28th July 1891) they were married on 23rd September 1915 at St Saviours Church, Nottingham, they lived at 20 Camden Street, Sneinton, Nottingham, they had a daughter Doris Beatrice born 12th December 1916.

Commencing 24th March 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week

Military history

Private Frederick Harrison enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 7th battalion North Staffordshire Regiment, he was killed in action at Tehran, Iran, he is commemorated on the Tehran Memorial, Iran.
