Family History

Arthur Ford was born in 1893 the son of John Iram Ford a chemist assistant and Annie Ford née McGinnis of 3 Throresby Street, Manvers Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. His father John was born in 1872 at Nottingham and his mother Annie McGinnis was born in 1872 at Gainsborough. They were married in 1891 at Nottingham and went on to have the following children - Rose Mary b1892, Arthur b1893 and Annie b1896 all were born in Nottingham.

Military History

Arthur Ford enlisted at Nottingham on 12th December 1911 He was promoted to Corporal on 11th August 1915 and went to France 27th August 1916 embarking from Folkstone and landing at Boulogne the same day. He was killed in action whilst serving in the line near Bellacourt on 9th October 1916. He is buried in Bellacourt Military Cemetery, Riviere, France, Grave Reference: I H 5
