Norman Albert Taylor

Private Norman Albert Taylor enlisted in Nottingham and served with the 1st battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment . He landed in France on 28th January 1915. He died of his wounds on 13th February 1916 and is buried in Erquinghem-Lys Churchyard Extension

Obituaries published in the Nottingham Evening Post read :- “TAYLOR. – In affectionate remembrance of my dear husband, Norman, died from wounds at Capelle, Armentiere, February 13th, 1916. Christ will link the broken chain closer when we meet again. - Ever remembered by his loving wife and baby, Norman. “TAYLOR. – In fondest remembrance of our dear brother, Norman, died from wounds at Capelle, Armentieres, February 13th, 1916. His memory is as dear to-day as in the hour he passed away. - Sister, brother, Ada, and Will (in France). “TAYLOR. – In ever-loving memory of my dear son, also of our dear brother, Private Norman Taylor, Sherwood Foresters, died of wounds in France, February 13th, 1916.
