Family History

William Frederick Wheat was born in 1898 in Nottingham and was the son of Charles and Lucy Wheat and the brother of Charles Henry and James Aaron Wheat (killed in action 14/5/1917) and the half brother of Albert, Lucy, Hilda and Margaret Sulley Wheat. In 1911 they lived at 53 Oldham Street Carlton Road Nottingham.

Military History

Private William Frederick Wheat, enlisted at Hornchurch and served with the 26th Battalion Middlesex Regiment, he was was killed in action on 7th December 1916. Aged 19, he is buried in Mikra British Cemetery, Kalamaria, Greece.

Extra Information

His brother Pte. James Wheat, 1/6th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment, was killed in action on 14th May 1917. He is buried in Maroc British Cemetery, Grenay.
