William Henry Whitby

William Henry Whitby was born in 1898 in Nottingham and was the son of William a labourer and Kathrine Whitby née Stones, they lived at 10 Abbott Street Blue Bell Hill Road St Ann's Nottingham. His father William was born in 1870 in Nottingham, his mother Katherine Stones was born in 1869 also in Nottingham, they were married in 1893 also in Nottingham and went on to have 7 children, however sadly 1 did in infancy , their remaining children were :- Polly b1895, Florence b1896, William Henry b1898, John Harold b1899, Kitty b1904 and Richard b1907 all the children were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 10 Abbott Street, Blue Bell Hill Road, Nottingham and are shown as William 41 yrs a labourer , he is living with his wife Kate 42 yrs and four of their children , Florence 14 yrs a lace hand , William 13 yrs an errand boy, Kitty 6 yrs and Richard 3 yrs , Their remaining 2 children are living at 2 Ellis Terrace, Northville Street, Nottingham with their widowed grandmother Catherine Stone 76 yrs head of the family a charwoman, she is living with three of her grandchildren , Polly Whitby 16 yrs (no occupation) John Harold Whitby 11 yrs a scholar and Bernard Francis Murry 21 yrs a goods porter with Midland railways.
