Arthur Wiltshire was born in 1897 the son of the late Walter Johnson Wiltshire a frame work knitter and Elizabeth Wiltshire née Skerritt Walter Johnson Wiltshire was born in 1857 at Arnold, he died in 1899 aged 42 yrs, Elizabeth Skerritt was born in 1859 married on 17th March 1888 at St Pauls Church, Hyson Green they had children, Clara Elizabeth b1899,Edith b1891, Alice b1894 and Elizabeth b1896 His mother re married in 1904 at Nottingham to Charles Cook Johnson, In 1911 census Arthur is shown as being a boarder along with his sisters Alice and Edith at Port Royal Hickling Road, Mapperley with Charles Johnson (his step father) and Elizabeth Johnson his mother. Arthur later lived at Hill View Road, Mapperley, Nottingham.

Military History

Arthur was born in Carlton, Nottingham and when he enlisted he was residing at Radford, he enlisted in Nottingham. He was killed in action on 23rd April 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Bay 7
