Thomas Quinn was born in 1893 at Walsall he was the son of Michael a carter and Margaret Quinn née Joyce of 7 Harold Street Sneinton Road Nottingham Michael was born in 1867 at Walsall, Margaret Joyce was born in 1872 at Walsall, they were married on 31st January 1892 at St Marys Church, Walsall they went on to have 5 children, they lived at 16 Bullocks Yard, Bellar Gate, Nottingham when they first moved to Nottingham.

Military History

Lance Corporal Thomas Quinn enlisted at Derby, he served with the 8th battalion Seaforth Highlanders, landing in France on 23rd August 1914 he was killed in action on 22nd August 1917, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial

Extra Information

His father Michael Quinn also served during the Great War, he enlisted on 9th June 1915, aged 38 yrs and he was a labourer, he served with the service number 59603 in the York and Lancaster Regiment and was transferred to the Labour Corps on 23rd July 1918, he was demobilised from the Army on 9th April 1919, he saw no service overseas.
