Family History

Charles Edward Huddleston was born in 1863 at Nottingham, he was a house painter, he married Ann Elizabeth Daykin on 6th April 1889 at St Stephens Church, Sneinton, they had 4 children George b1890, Charles b1892, William b1895 and Samuel Huddleston b1898 In 1911 the family lived at 22 Robin Hood Street Nottingham Charles is 47 yrs and is a house painter, he is living with his wife Ann Elizabeth 51 yrs and their 4 children.

Military History

Corporal Charles Edward Huddleston enlisted on 1st December 1914 giving his age as 52 yrs and his occupation as a painter. He had previous military service with the service number 2630 with the 2nd battalion Derbyshire Regiment with whom he served until 30th November 1887 when he was discharged as time served. He served with the 161st Company Royal Defence Corps and was promoted to Corporal on 20th July 1818 he was discharged on 14th September 1918 being no longer fit for war duties, he saw no service overseas during his time in the Great War. He died on 26th October 1918 and is buried in the Nottingham General Cemetery.
