Eric Cyril Cousins was born in 1894 the son of Thomas Lambert Anthony a headteacher and Alice Mary Cousins née Smith of “Montpelier”, Mapperley Plains, Nottingham. Thomas Lambert Anthony was born in 1859 at Bristol, Alice Mary Smith was born in 1859 at Bridport, Dorset, married on 20th August 1885 at St Lukes, Barton Hill, Gloucester, they had 3 children.

Military History

Lieutenant Eric Cyril Cousins gained a commission as Second Lieutenant 13th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment on the 14th April 1915. He was promoted Lieutenant and was killed in action, 21st March 1918, aged 22, whilst holding the line near Morchies, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact) Commemorated: Arras Memorial, France.
