Family History

Archibald Henry Hallam was born in 1892. He married Violet May Bonser (born 4th September 1891 ) in 1910 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they lived at 34 New Street, East Kirkby and had the following children, Sydney Thomas born 24th March 1913, Cyril Henry born 8th May 1914 and Kathleen born 27th Jul 1916 Commencing 27th January 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 29 shillings and 7 pence a week Violet married Matthew Billingham in 1920.

Military History

Private Archibald Henry Hallam enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at East Kirkby, he initially served with the service number 92871 in The Sherwood Foresters Regiment and was killed in action on 27th May 1918. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial, Picardie, France.
