Family History

Sidney Hall was born in 1896 the son of Henry a coal miner hewer and Frances Hall née Berridge and the brother of Fred and Emmanuel Hall. In 1911 they lived at 56a Sherwood Street Kirkby in Ashfield. Henry was born in 1850 at Skegby, Frances Berridge was born in 1857 at Normanton, married in 1874 at Mansfield they had 10 children, sadly 3 died in infancy or early childhood.

Military History

Private Sidney Hall enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at East Kirkby, he was killed in action on 24th May 1916 and is buried at St. Vaast Post Military Cemetery, Richebourg-Lavoue, France. Plot 3. Row H. Grave 3.
