Arthur Eyre was born in 1888 at Nottingham and was the son of the late George William a coach painter and Clara Anna Eyre née Goodburn of Radford Nottingham. His father George William was born in 1861 at Nottingham he died in 1900 aged 39 yrs and his mother Clara Anna Goodburn was born in 1861 at Doncaster, she died in 1904 aged 43 yrs they were married in 1882 in Nottingham they had the following children, Ethel Annie b1883, Arthur b1888 and Albert Edward b1890 all were born in Nottingham. In 1901 census the family lived at 64 Bovill Street New Radford Nottingham. By the 1911 census Arthur was a serving soldier in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was living at Court 2, House 2, Parliament Street, Derby, he is living with Charlotte Crooks and her family, he is shown as being 23 yrs single a soldier serving with the 2nd battalion Sherwood Foresters. His probate was proven on 29th June 1920 at Nottingham, and shows him as Arthur Eyre of 85 Alfreton Road, a postman, died on 7th June 1920, his effects of £30 were left to Ethel Annie Hallam wife of Henry Hallam
Company Quarter Master Sergeant served with the 2nd battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was serving with the regiment in 1911. He later transferred to (237087) Labour Corps. He died on 7th June 1920 and is buried at Nottingham General Cemetery.
